Addressing Bodog Sponsorship Reports

With the recent media attention surrounding reports that my sponsor, Bodog, and I have parted ways, I felt it was appropriate to personally address these news pieces.

Bodog and I have officially parted ways after a two year sponsorship relationship. I want to thank Bodog and its staff for giving me an opportunity to play for them. Back in 2007, when I was new to the live tournament circuit, they saw a great deal of potential in my future. I hope that my efforts both on and off the felt have left them with favorable results in their business operations and their investment of me.

I have greatly enjoyed playing alongside my good friends, Evelyn and David, and will miss being a part of that team. I have learned a great deal from them over the years and continue to wish them success both in their poker careers and with the Bodog brand.

First and foremost, I would like to stress the fact that I did not ever at any point quit the Bodog Pro Team. I had imagined myself a member of Team Bodog for the duration of my poker career. Although the intricacies of poker sponsorships are rarely discussed publically, there is definitely a business side to it. My management team and I are currently working with Bodog on the backend to officially finalize the relationship.

I have already been involved in conversations regarding new sponsorship opportunities. Moving forward, I will be focusing my attention on aligning with a sponsor who will better utilize my play and media presence. I am looking forward to evaluating a potential new home. Although, any decision regarding new sponsorship will not be rushed.

In regards to poker, I am super excited for 2010. I feel extremely energized this year and feel that my best poker is yet to be played. I am thrilled that Bluff Magazine has decided to feature me as its January 2010 cover. This week, you can also see me on my second Poker2Nite episode on FSN, with a segment on the Panorama Towers lifestyle.

In addition, my website has been redesigned thanks to the hard work and effort of Brian Cooley and his team over at Wicked PR. Lastly, a group of us living at Panorama have signed on to participate in a lifestyle piece for a major mainstream magazine in late January – I will announce details later. I am currently down in the Bahamas at the PCA enjoying a good week. The scenery is incredible and the tournament schedule is phenomenal. 2010 is definitely off to an excellent start.

Thanks to everyone who has reached out to me in the last week and also those who were interested in my sponsorship situation. I appreciate all of your support.
