Dream Team Poker Round 2 and some Quick Updates

I’m on Mega Tilt. Just wrote my first blog in two months and hit submit. I got some browser error, and when I hit the back button, it wasn’t there anymore. Ironically that was the first blog in… ever?… that I didn’t use Microsoft Word to write before pasting into the browser =(

The idea was that the task of writing a full blog into word detailing everything poker related that I’ve done was too daunting, especially given I had to cover two months of stuff. Proofreading is also annoying.

I’m gonna try to start writing quick blogs about one or two things. Hopefully that will make them easier to write.

I’ve been playing a lot on Bodog – 5/10 and 10/20 NL. I was crushing until a huge downswing recently, most of which occurred heads up. I’m still a winner on the year, including being a huge winner in non-heads up hands, but downswings are always frustrating. One player in particular killed me. He is now the only Bodog player I won’t play HU. He plays a super crazy loose aggressive style. He overbets all the time, and is actually very good at hand reading. The style is usually a recipe for disaster, but this guy knows what he’s doing. I won’t say his name in case he’s afraid I’ll kill his action.

I’ve been playing a lot of heads up the last few months, and it’s done wonders for my game. I think I’ve actually become a decent competitor at heads up.

The 2nd Dream Team Poker tournament is at Caesar’s tomorrow. For those of you that don’t know, Team Bluff (Eric Morris, Matt Parvis and Myself) are the reigning champions. We’ll be defending our title. Admittedly it will be hard to defend since entry is open to the public this time. Also since the buyin is lower, that means there will be 5 times as many players, and many of the clueless celebrities will be replaced by mediocre poker players. Regardless, it will be really fun.

I think we’re going to be on PokerRoad Radio tonight at the party to discuss the tournament. I’m not sure. Check out www.PokerRoad.com for more details.

I love the fact that PokerRoad and Bluff are willing to give each other media recognition. You’ll never hear of a competitor mentioned on Cardplayer.

Anyway, that’s all I got for you guys for now.

GL Team Bluff!
