Look! It's A Blog!
Blog blog blog blog blog blog… Must…. write… blog.
Ok, ok, I’ve been really busy the past couple of months. I went to Vegas for the WSOP Main Event. I didn’t do any gambling since I%uFFFDm not 21 yet, but the trip was a much needed kick in the ass. I hadn’t been playing any poker, but every single person I ran into had some story about how they won eleventy billion dollars in seven minutes a few days ago. I really felt embarrassed of the fact that I hadn’t been playing at all, and I now have the much needed motivation to get back into things.
Way too much happened in Vegas to write about, so if you really want details, you can go to www.natarem.com. The July 28th update is the first one that includes me. I shared a hotel room with Nat and Ozzy87 at the Bellagio, so Nat was around to blog most of what happened.
After Vegas, I drove home to LA where I stayed for all of one night, before flying back home to DC to visit the family, and my friends from high school (of the Flint Hill variety), before they headed back to college.
That was awesome. I hadn’t been home since January, so seeing those guys again was important to me.
I’ve been back in LA for about a week now. Ben (my brother) and I have a new roommate moving in. Brian is a really cool guy, so I’m looking forward to it.
I’ve been playing a lot of poker, finally, and I’m doing fine. I made about 10k this past week. For a while I had trouble putting in the hours. I would play a one hour session and just get tired, but not too long ago something just clicked. I don’t know what it was, but I played a six hour session, and afterward, all I wanted to do was play more poker. I missed that feeling, and I’m glad to have it back. I know a lot of professional poker players that don’t enjoy what they do simply because they don’t have that feeling. I consider myself very lucky in that I love what I do.
Three weeks until Aruba!! I’m so psyched. I actually don’t care much about Aruba itself, but after what feels like fifty long years of waiting, I am FINALLY turning 21 on September 30th. Then my schedule gets really hectic. See my previous blog for info on tourneys I%uFFFDm attending (although I think the NPA thing was canceled. I have to check into that.)
Wow, I%uFFFDm really glad I finally got this blog out there, even if it is lacking a ton of info. In Vegas I wrote a 2,000 word blog, but the Microsoft Word on my laptop is screwed up, and it crashed on me. Writing something for the first time is fun, but when you have to write that exact same thing again from memory, it becomes a serious chore. I think I let that prevent me from writing a blog for so long, but that%uFFFDs no longer a problem. I don’t even know why I wrote this paragraph. I’m sure no one cares. But I’m going to leave it in since I spent the time to write it. Wow, I’m really babbling now.
Ok, this is going downhill fast, so I’m going to head to sleep.
