PoY, Reality TV Show, and Jennifer Tilly

I"ve basically decided that winning the Card Player PoY race is no longer something I"m willing to dedicate an entire year to. Don"t get me wrong, I still plan on finishing highly on it, at least top 20 barring a complete blowup, but I can"t take the non-stop traveling. I love life in LA too much. I skipped Reno, Monte Carlo, and Foxwoods, and I"ll be 100% focused and ready for the Bellagio series including the $25,000 World Poker Tour main event which is a BIG deal. Maybe I'm still on tilt from the 600 points I had cheated from me ...

San Jose and some Interesting Hands

I flew to San Jose last night, and played the 2k today. The threads I've started in the MTT forum on 2 2 have been pretty interesting, so I think I'll post some more. Here are the one's I've started so far. Wynn Hand 1: http://tinyurl.com/2sue4a Wynn Hands 2,3 and 4: http://tinyurl.com/2dtd5q Bay101 Hand 1: http://tinyurl.com/yrefr4

Wynn 10k

I busted from the Wynn 10k Main Event today. My starting table was pretty spicy. It had Kathy Leibert, Johnny Chan, Alan Goehring, Eric Froehlic, Chuck Kelly (just got 2nd in Borgata WPT), Myself, and 3 other players that seemed decent. I've been getting a lot of requests to post my hands on 2 2, and maybe some of you that read my blog would be interested in participating in some discussion over my tournament hands. Here's a link to the first thread I started: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=9488121&an=0&page=0#Post9488121

Alan Sass wins a tourney, and the cover of Bluff Magazine!

Unfortunately I didn't fair so well at the LAPC. I didn't even make it past the first level. I read my opponent for a 1 pair hand, and tried to represent a boat to bluff him off of it. My read was right, but the play was questionable at best. Oh well, that's what happens sometimes when you bluff. On Thursday I drove up to Vegas for the Wynn Poker Classic. I played the 2k event on Friday. I built a pretty decent chiplead early on, but I lost half of it when I shoved an open ended straight draw into someone ...

Two more huge finishes (Including a win finally)!!!

As most of you probably know, I finished 11th in the Main event in the PCA (A World Poker Tour Main Event). It was EXTREMELY disappointing. My mom flew down to watch me play, so the pressure was on. I caught a sick run of cards, and doubled up in the first 20 minutes without showing down a single hand. I'm sure the entire table thought I was going crazy since they never got to see how good my hands actually were. I was second in chips with 2.2 million when a huge hand came up. It folded to me on ...

I Am Justin Bonomo. Hear Me Roar!

For those of you that have been living under a rock, I just turned twenty one on the last day of September. Less than three months later, I had what people are referring to as my "coming out party" at the Bellagio's Five Diamond (aka the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Classic). I played eight tournaments there, and made an astonishing FOUR final tables: 12/06/06 - Event 5: $5000 Buyin 8th Place: $16,465 12/08/06 - Event 7: $2000 Buyin 4th Place: $42,565 12/11/06 - Event 10: $5000 Buyin 5th place: $53,635 12/19/06 - Main Event: $15,000 Buyin 7th place: $152,230 Total: $264,895 Going into this tournament, I don't think many people ...

The Dreaded TV Bubble

Aaaarrrggghhhh!!! Soooo close!!! If you had told me two weeks ago, I was going to make four final tables at the Five Diamond, I wouldn't have believed it, but if I did, I would have been ecstatic about it. The way things actually went down is a bit more frustrating, as all tournaments are when you don't win. When I made the final ten of the main event, I was ready to take things down. The final table looked tough, with players like Negreanu and Hachem, but the truth is it was actually a final table. The player I was actually most worried ...
