Such Zees

Such Zees. For the past two weeks, I’ve been playing amazing poker: great reads, practically no mistakes. I just couldn’t be happier w/ my play (and I have pretty high standards). Today, I have to admit, was an exception. My brain just lapsed for almost 2 hours. I didn’t make any terrible plays. In fact, I didn’t make any plays that I’m confident were incorrect (although there were a couple I think should have gone the other way). However, I’m really unhappy w/ myself, simply for making a ton of decisions without thinking. Most of them (possibly even all of them) were ...

8th in Chips After Day 1a in the Main Event

Wow. What a sick week. I've played 7 tournaments so far this trip, and I final tabled three of em! For those of you that haven't been following it, I finished: 8th in the 1st 5k for ~$16,500 4th in the 2k for ~$42,500 5th in the 5k for ~$53,500 Unfortunately due to a dozen bad beats I wasn't able to close any of these out, but that's poker. Check out www.cardplayer.com or maybe www.pokerpages.com if you want specific details. I'm feeling too good to discuss bad beats right now. At least $3,500 will be going to the charity I am now sponsoring which you should check ...

Doing Well Again!

45 minutes left in the dinner break, so I gotta make this quick ... I finished 8th in the first 5k for $16,400. I was poised to take it down, but took a sick beat for 220k chips when ATo moved all-in and I called w/ AJs. I still had chips left after that, but not enough to make any plays with. Final hand was a coinflip that I lost. I finished 4th in the $2000, which was a SICK final table. David "The Dragon" Pham to my right, Barry Greenstein directly to my left, Men the "Master" to his left, and ...

Back to Back Final Tables!

Need sleep so this will be even quicker than the last one... I have 375k chips and the chiplead going into the final table of the 2k event. Follow coverage at www.cardplayer.com. Super tough final table featuring, Barry Greenstein (directly to my left), Men the Master (to his left), and JC Tran (2nd in chips). Even the other players at the table are all good especially Alan aka The Usher. Surprisingly, this table is much tougher than my 5k final table (despite that being an incredibly tough field overall).

Day 2!

I wrote about my 1 outer on Saturday. Sunday I was just card dead and never was able to win any chips. Monday Men the "Master" made a terrible call w/ AQ when I moved in w/ AK and sucked out on me. Today, everything fell into place. Well, I don't have a chip lead or anything. Actually, I'm slightly below average in chips, but whatever. There are 16 players left in the 5k (started w/ 175). I have 87,000 chips (average is roughly 105,000). I played extremely well today, and considering that I ran into AA like 2342930409 times, I'm happy to still ...

lol

I've been pretty busy lately. I went to San Diego to visit some friends for Thanksgiving. That was a ton of fun. I wish I could have stayed longer. I got into Vegas last night at 3:30am for the Five Diamond tournaments at the Bellagio. Today was the $2000 100 tourney, so I got a wakeup call for 10:45 and was at the tournament site by noon. Blinds were 25/50 and everyone pretty much had a starting stack of 4k when the following hand came up 30 minutes into the tournament. I got red aces in the Hijack (hijack is the seat ...

Slackage, SENS, and Elections

Ok, I know I haven't updated in a while. I've definitely been slacking. After I busted out of the Bellagio main event, I did something I had only done once in the past two years: I played Magic! I was staying at a gamer's house in Vegas: Dan Place, and we invited over Dave Williams, Efro, and Brock Parker (T Soprano), and we drafted for two days straight. I really like the new cards a lot, but then again, maybe that's just because they brought back a ton of old cards that I remember from years ago when I used to play ...
