Holiday Stuff

I've been home in NoVa for a week now, so I haven't really had any time for poker. For Christmas I went to Yorktown (3 hours south of NoVa) to stay at my grandparents' house. That was cool. It's always good to see family again. After dispatching Tom McEvoy in eight minutes, it was time to head back home. On the 26th I went to my other grandmother's house to celebrate Chanukah. For those of you that are wondering, my dad is Jewish and my mom is Christian. Growing up, I celebrated holidays on both sides, but I really got a ...

The TLB Record and a Million Dollar Beating

My playtime last week was limited because of my trip to Vegas, but a last minute nine tabling session on my laptop Saturday night let me break the all-time weekly TLB record previously held by Holdem_NL with a score of 2893. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get enough play in to break 3,000, but holding the record at 2963 isn't too shabby. For the next week my picture will be on the PokerStars front page. I didn't think much of it at first until I realized that hundreds of thousands of people will see that picture every day. ...

N82 Guest Writes a Blog

Note from ZJ: I was really lazy tonight, and Nat offered to write a blog, so I let him. If you do not like it, please direct all hate mail to natarem@gmail.com. Late at night on Thursday Dec 15th, Oz (aka Ozzy 87, formerly known as bigslick789) and I realized Gigabet could very well make the WPT final table of the Five Diamonds $15K event and that it could be a fun trip to go see Gigabet play. After he made the final table, we decided on a whim to book tickets to Vegas to go see the final table taping. ...

Vegas Baby! WPT Final Table

Tomorrow I’m driving to Vegas to watch the final table of the WPT. It might be the sickest final table I’ve ever seen. 1. Joanne "J.J." Liu - $3,630,000 (seat 4) 2. Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken - $3,510,000 (seat 1) 3. Rehne Pedersen - $3,225,000 (seat 3) 4. Phil "Unabomber" Laak - $2,505,000 (seat 5) 5. Doyle Brunson - $2,025,000 (seat 6) 6. Patrik Antonius - $1,755,000 (seat 2) I actually know four of these players personally. Darrell Dicken is of course Gigabet. He’s one of the best online players. For those of you that read this site thinking I am one of the best online players, I ...

The Race is On!

As most of you are aware, PokerStars has a Tournament Leader Board. Basically, if you do well in a tournament, you get a certain number of points. At the end of each week, the person with the most points gets their picture put in the PokerStars lobby, and they get to play Tom McEvoy in a heads up freeroll. If the player wins, he gets $1,000 plus another $1,000 for every previous consecutive week that the challenger lost. There’s also a lot of pride associated with the whole thing. The truth is that the leader board is not at all a ...

$137,000 and Rakeback Info!

$200+15 Sunday tournament on Stars. 3423 entrants. 1st place. $136,920. Today was a good day. This is the most money I’ve ever won in a single tournament / day, just edging out my $110k finish I had a month and a half ago. This is by far the most money I’ve ever won for a 1st place finish, and damn, it feels good. After the $600+40, I was a bit disappointed, because I felt like I messed up on the final hand. This time I am extremely happy with my play. Hand 1

MySpace and Rakeback

So first of all, I love MySpace. It’s just really fun to browse around looking at your friends’ pics and comments and stuff. If you are interested, you can find my profile at www.MySpace.com/ZeeJustin. I worked out a rakeback deal with the good guys down at RakeTracker. This site is pretty much automated meaning that things are made really simple for their players. Just go to www.raketracker.com/?addby=ZeeJustin and start up an account. This will allow you to create a rakeback account at virtually any site where rakeback is possible, getting the best deal possible. I am friends with the guys that ...
