Borgata

Let’s talk about the Borgata…. I love the Borgata! Atlantic City is definitely not my favorite place. It’s becoming more and more broken down and dirty every time I visit, which is why it almost seems as if the Borgata is not even a part of it. Everything about the Borgata is great. The rooms are wonderful. I could spend hours in the showers (the showers even have plenty of room for sitting!). All of their restaurants are great, Michael Mina’s Seablue being my favorite of the bunch. But most importantly for me, their tournaments have the best structures. I played ...

I Need Your Help!

I NEED YOUR HELP AND I PROMISE IT WILL TAKE ONLY TWO MINUTES! As many of you know, I have supported anti-aging related organizations such as the Methuselah Foundation and Sens.org. I have donated an amount somewhere in the mid 5 figure range so far to them. I truly believe we can end all age related diseases in the near future. If you support fighting age-related diseases, as well as aging in general, please take two minutes of your time to vote for Undergrads Fighting Age Related Disease. They are currently in the top 20 of thousands of organizations, competing over a ...

All Strategy!

The first episode of All Strategy has been put up on www.pokerroad.com. Please check it out! The direct link is http://www.pokerroad.com/all_strategy/8-27-08/. I think the first show went great, although we were still getting our feet wet. The next 3 shows have been recorded already, and I think they all went even better than the first. Huge News!!

Before I get to the huge news, I’m gonna start with some small news. CardPlayer is starting a new show called “The Calling Station” where the host will change in each episode. The host simply takes calls and answers them. The calls are entirely about strategy. Yesterday I was given the honor of being the shows first ever host! The episode should be up tomorrow on Cardplayer.com/tv. Ok, now for the HUGE news… Poker Road is starting a new show called All Strategy. The PR crew decided they wanted a live specialist as well as an online specialist, while still having two ...

Nothing!

I’ve been doing absolutely nothing, and I’ve been loving every second of it! I was both disappointed and burned out at the end of the WSOP. Playing 15 hour days for over a month straight really gets to you, especially if you only take one or two days off. I did manage to final table a $2500 at Venetian which put me in 10th for the CardPlayer PoY which was kind of cool, although I was obviously not happy with my 4th place finish. I also cashed in the Bellagio WPT which means I profited about 25% of the buyin... Nice ...

Final Table Commentary

I did the final table commentary for the $1,500 Mixed Hold’em event final table today, and I’m sick to my stomach right now. I went in to the table rooting for Nick Binger. I’m a huge Binger fan. Both of the brothers are extremely nice, intelligent guys. For the most part Nick played well. He was very aggressive, and I think he made a few missteps towards the end. I was extremely impressed with the play of Jonathon Tamayo. I wish I remembered his online name since he is a 2+2er. Anyway, he played by far the best of anyone at the table, ...

WSOP Update

Let’s see… eight days ago I wrote a blog about being at the final table… As you can probably guess, I didn’t win, although I did finish 2nd for my biggest cash ever (around $230,000). After 8 cashes over $100,000, and 11 over $75,000, I FINALLY have one over $200,000. Huge congrats go out to Erick Lindgren for finally winning his first bracelet. A lot of people have asked me how the heads up went. It was pretty brutal. Basically, I couldn’t flop a pair to save my life, while Erick showed up with top pair every hand. I did manage to flop ...
