I got chips @ Borgata!

So PCA was awesome. After that, I went back to LA for a few days. On Tuesday, I flew into AC for the WPT at the Borgata. First I played the $2,500. We started with 12k chips. I lost a ~20k pot when someone turned a higher set against my flopped set. I rebuilt to 16k according to some text messages I sent, but I can’t remember how I busted after that. Not important – didn’t get far. In the 5k we started with 15k chips. Again, according to text messages, I dropped down to 8.5k, then rebuilt to 30ish. The final ...

Bahamas Trip Report

I don’t even understand how, but I’ve been super busy the past few weeks. I just have 100 little things to do every day that seemingly come out of nowhere and/or never go away. I’ve been using the fact that my site has not been finished as an excuse to not write blogs, but I’m not going to do that anymore. I’M GOING TO WRITE MORE BLOGS IN 2008. I PROMISE. Ok, so on the 4th I flew to the Bahamas which is one of my favorite (if not my #1 favorite) tournament spots of the year. The Atlantis is amazing. ...

Wise Hand Poker Radio

Tomorrow at 8pm EST I will be on Wise Hand Poker Radio with Gary Wise. Please check it out at roundersradio.com. The guest before me will be Ansky from 2+2. It should be a very interesting show because of the topic. Basically, JJ Prodigy went on a radio show at www.pokerroad.com, and Ansky made a thread on 2+2 discussing it. I of course responded, as well as a bajillion other people. I suggest you listen to JJ's radio show at http://www.pokerroad.com/_/pokerroad_radio/1-14-08/ (JJ comes on at the 31 minute mark). Ansky's 2+2 post can be found at http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthread.php?t=104233, and for easy reference, my initial response ...

T Soprano Fails at Eating Contest

Friday afternoon I got an IM from Brock Parker (T_Soprano on Stars). He told me there was a Magic tournament in Maryland on Saturday, and of course I got excited. Unlike in Poker, you can’t just buy in to the pro tournaments. You need to qualify, or essentially satellite in (incidentally that’s one of the main reasons I quit magic. The satellites start at 10am on Saturday morning, and you have to drive far if you want to be able to play more than just one every two months. They generally kill both your Friday night and Saturday.) This tournament was ...

Welcome to the new ZeeJustin.com!

The site is still under construction, but now that the blog is up and running, I'll catch you up on a few things. The site has been in limbo, so I never got to write about the 2nd half of my Bellagio trip. Last I wrote, I was pretty disappointed as I bubbled two separate events. I played the $15,000 buyin in at the Venetian and started off pretty well. There were only 57 players, but I was one of the chipleaders going into day two. I got caught in a somewhat embarrassing spot on the televised table against Sorel "Zangbezan" Mizzi. ...

15 players left in the 5k!

I have 368,000 chips going into day 2 of the 5k event here at Bellagio. 15 players left including David Williams with a huge chiplead of almost 600k, JC Tran, Mark Teltscher, Adam "Roothless" Levy, Chris Bjorn, and Ray Hensen. The average stack is just a tad over 200k, so I'm in good shape. 500k for first. GL to me. It's 3am, so time for sleep now. Edit: Shaniac, and Sully Erna are also still in.

Argghhhh

I'm not happy right now. Last time I wrote about my 52nd place at WPT Foxwoods that paid 50 spots, and how I finished 20th last week in the $2500 event that paid 18 spots. I had to skip two Bellagio events for the $15,000 event at the Venetian. It only had 57 players, so my 14th place finish was not good enough to make the money. I did get some TV time, but it's only gonna be on the MOJO network which no one seems to watch. I will also be embarrassed because I was forced to call off all ...
