So far the year hasn’t treated me very well. January was my worst month ever. I don’t really care to discuss how much I lost in my blog, but it was rough. However, I should mention that I ran so unbelievably well from September to December that I really have no reason to be discouraged. Things are just evening out a little bit, and that’s poker. I’m still playing my A game, and that’s what matters.

Despite my recent downswing, life is good. I recently set aside a large sum of money to invest in stocks and funds, and since I haven’t been traveling (other than WPT Bahamas last month), I’ve been going to the gym regularly. The weather around here has been great lately, and I’m looking forward to being able to enjoy the beach again soon. I really do love California.

The LA Poker Classic is coming up. Sadly, I won’t be 21 until September, so I won’t be able to play the tournament, but I’ll be hanging around the Commerce Casino a bit catching up with friends and what not. If you see me, be sure to be careful about what you say (wink wink nudge nudge).

I saw Jack’s Mannequin and Fall Out Boy last night at the House of Blues on Sunset, and it was awesome. I hadn’t been to a concert in a few months which is way too long for me. Other than poker, music is my passion. Actually, I almost never play poker without listening to music, so I guess you could say that I’m around music more than I’m around poker.

I guess I should clarify that I had absolutely nothing to do with the production of this. I just saw someone post about it on 2+2 and thought it was cool that people are distributing videos of me playing poker. Maybe (no promises) I’ll put out something like this myself in the future where you can see my hole cards. I think something like that could be a great educational tool, especially if I put audio over it discussing the hands.
